You may recall Dollar Tree getting in a large assortment of Kiss Nail Dress strips for summer 2016, and they are back at it again here in 2017! This time around I am doing a Dollar Tree haul full of Kiss Nail Dress and Gel Dress strips. Kiss makes my absolute favorite nail polish strips, and I think these designs are significantly more pretty than the first haul. I am going to go ahead and show you what I got in my haul, and then I will discuss the products. Let me know in the comments if you want me to do a tutorial on how to apply the strips.

In this Dollar Tree haul you will notice that there are two types of strips- Gel Dress and Nail Dress. Gel Dress strips are gel strips. You can apply a regular topcoat over them to make them last for a week, or apply a gel topcoat to make them last two weeks. Kiss recommends that you use their Double-Up gel topcoat and UV lamp. I plan on using a different gel topcoat and lamp, because that is what I have. I will say that I have used regular and gel topcoat with a lamp on the Nail Dress strips, but it never works out. The topcoats always peel off in one big layer. They do not adhere to or sink into the strips. However, when using the Nail Dress french tips you are supposed to use a topcoat to seal the strip to your nail since the strip only covers your nail tip.

The strips that come in the black box are much older than the strips in the white box. In general, these strips have been on the shelves for a long time. That can definitely affect their performance, so be warned. The Nail Dress strips claim to last anywhere from seven to 10 days. I usually leave mine on for two weeks, but they might not last that long given their age. I also notice that you get 40 strips in the white boxes, but the black boxes fluctuate between 22-28 strips. All of these nail strips can be removed by peeling them off. I have never had to use nail polish remover.

All of the strips come with a double-ended nail file. The smoother, finer side of the file is for filing away excess strips that do not have any gems. The rougher side is for filing away excess strips that do have gems. I always use the provided files because they work the best. Only the Gel Dress strips come with a cuticle pusher, but you definitely want to push your cuticles back before applying any of these. The Gel Dress strips also include a cleansing pad which removes that sticky residue that UV lamps leave behind. These pads are simply alcohol pads and you can make your own at home by applying alcohol to a cotton ball or round.

Finally, I find the names of these strips very odd. Kiss definitely never puts any effort into their naming schemes, which is sad because I find names very important. The names have nothing to do with the designs themselves, except for the fact that they try to use fashion related words to match their “nail fashion” theme. They also repeat names for multiple designs, which is just weird. For example, I have so many strips named “Bustier.”

This concludes my Dollar Tree haul of more Kiss Nail Dress and Gel Dress strips. Will you be adding these to your wishlist? Which designs are your favorite? Thanks for reading, and until next time continue to let your true beauty shine.
