The Aesthetic Edge

How to Make Orange Lipstick Look Good

Believe it or not, women are commonly searching for ways on how to make orange lipstick look good. While red and pink are classic lip colors that most brands beat a dead horse over, orange takes us out of our comfort zone. Many are afraid to rock the hue because they are worried it might clash with their complexion or their eye color. Or, you might be thinking that orange is strictly for Halloween. I have a soft spot for orange lips. Further, when it comes to makeup and fashion, I never worry about something looking bad on me because of my features. This blog is all about wearing what makes you feel happy and confident. In this blog post I am giving you a variety of lip and eyeshadow combinations that beautifully compliment an orange lip to give you the ultimate makeup artist aesthetic.

How to Make Orange Lipstick Look Good

There are so many different ways that you can approach how to make orange lipstick look good. I prefer to keep things simple. To me, it is all about how the eye meshes with the lips. If you do those two areas of the face correctly, the entire look will fall into place and make you look like an expert. First, I will share a list of orange lippies. Then, I have a list of eyeshadow palettes that I love to sport with an orange lip.

Lip Colors

If we are going to discuss how to make orange lipstick look good, we first need to hone in one some lip colors. I am going through my own personal collection to craft this list of lip colors. As they say, variety is the spice of life, and I am serving that saying up in a major way for you. This list includes so many formulations, from standard lipsticks, to liquid, and even powder. Besides original orange, I am even featuring corals, peaches, and red orange. Even the finishes vary from matte, to glossy, and everything in between.

Eyeshadow Palettes

When it comes to selecting an eyeshadow palette to go with your orange lip, I go for two different types. The first type is a color range that features orange (of course!) or a variety of orange-related hues. The second type is a nude palette. Now, my collection is completely inundated with nude palettes, and I am sure yours is as well. I will not sit here and tell you to go by a Naked palette. All of these suggestions are for high-quality, easy to use drugstore and high-end palettes that will add something fresh to your collection, while supporting an orange eye. I could even go on further with this list, but the last thing I want to do is overwhelm you, dear reader.

Makeup Look

To finish off how to make orange lipstick look good, I have a makeup look that will evidence my selections are the real deal. Admittedly, my absolute favorite eyeshadow palette to wear with an orange lip is the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette. It features orange tones with other complimentary shades that you simply cannot beat. With my typical extra style I also have to do an orange wig!

To create the eye look at home, start by setting the eyelid with Desert Sand. Next, apply Blazing into the crease and bring it down below the eye. Then, apply Eden onto the eyelid, and also bring it down below the eye. Now, apply Saffron to the outer-v and connect it down to the lower lash line. Finish this look by highlighting the brow bone and inner corner with Angelic.
