We all need some self-pampering time, and a solid skincare routine is an excellent way to treat yourself. As part of that routine, I have some recommendations for the best at home skincare devices. From masking, to cleansing, and treating blemishes, there are some tools out there that will make your life easier, and your routine much more enjoyable. Most of these are highly affordable as well. You can always go without tools and rough it with your fingers, but you are missing out on so many benefits! Let’s get started with the tools.
Mask Removing Sponges
I am starting off the best at home skincare devices with some mask removing sponges. For any kind of face mask that states it must be washed off, I always put them on before I take a shower, and then wash them off with a sponge. As evidenced by the photo, many brands make these, but at the end of the day, they all perform the same. I have some from Ecotools, elf, Dollar Tree, and My Beauty Spot. The sponge will give you the mildest amount of exfoliation while easily removing all of your mask, even a stubborn clay mask.
Silicone Mask Applicators
Second are some silicone mask applicators. I used to apply masks with my hands, which was messy and unsanitary. My life is forever changed with these silicone tools. I apply any kind of mask with these, from clay, to gel, peel-offs, and more. Many brands make these, from Freeman, Yes to, Dollar Tree, elf, My Beauty Spot, etc. They are easy to clean and minimize mess down to nothing.
Silicone Face Scrubbers
Third are some tool options to cleanse your face with. I used to use a Clarisonic brush dupe, but now I am all about these silicone tools. The purple one is the Foreo Luna Fofo. It vibrates with a nice amount of surface area, two sizes of bumps, and it connects to an app on your phone to track the health of your skin. If it is beyond your budget, a cheaper option is elf’s Massaging Facial Cleaner. The main differences are the smaller surface area, one size of bumps, and it does not connect to an app. Ultimately, these achieve the same purpose. Silicone is much more anti-microbial than a brush that needs replaced often. I use the Luna Fofo every day in the shower with my general face wash for a gentle exfoliation while I cleanse.

General Tools
Fourth, I want to get into some general tools that are handy to have around. An under eye roller ball tool provides that at home spa experience when massaging eye creams into the skin, but you can use them by themselves to alleviate puffiness. For those that struggle with acne and blemishes, I am not the biggest proponent of ‘popping’ them for the risk of scarring, but on occasion I will use an extraction tool on a really bad blemish. Also, I have Vivitar’s Portable Ionic Facial Massager, which I like to use to work serums and face mask residue into the skin. It has positive and negative ionic settings, but I forget what the instructions say about that, so I stick with the positive ions.

Skincare Brushes
Fifth for these best at home skincare devices are some skincare brushes! Real Techniques offers some great options if you would rather not use your fingers to apply products. They have a set that features a brush for you to apply serums/moisturizers/primers, an exfoliating brush that you can wash your face with, an under eye roller ball, a lip exfoliator brush, and a brush to apply BB creams and foundations. You can go totally hands-free with these options!
Blue Light Therapy for Acne
I am finishing off these best at home skincare devices with Conair’s True Glow Light Therapy Solution. This blue UV light claims to reduce acne and blemishes after seven treatments. You should always wear the included goggles to protect your eyes, and also use a timer. The light can be held over an area for three minutes. I used this product for 10 days straight, and I noticed a significant reduction in acne, but it stated to come back by the time I reached day 10. With that being said, I do not expect the light to eliminate all blemishes forever, but the point is that it definitely helps, and I have witnessed the results myself.
