wet n wild Rebel Rose Collection

As I do for every season, I am bringing you a limited edition Spring 2019 wet n wild collection. The wet n wild Rebel Rose collection is broken into two parts- makeup and skincare. All of the products are rose-themed either by shape, by smell, or by ingredients. This collection speaks to all of the edgy, goth makeup lovers out there. When I look at this collection I think of Beauty and the Beast with a dark twist. I have all of the products from this collection and I am providing first impressions, reviews, swatches, and up-close views.

Before I get into the products from the wet n wild Rebel Rose collection, I am taking you up-close and personal with the Full Collection Box. I am showing you all of the angles and the awesome packaging.

wet n wild photofocus Rose Toner

I am starting off the wet n wild Rebel Rose collection with the skincare products! First is the photofocus Rose Toner. It is a toner water contained in a glass spray bottle. This toner water can be applied morning and evening, and it should be applied before all other skincare products. It claims to hydrate, soothe, refresh, soften, clarify, and nourish to leave a healthy glow. The spray smells like any other rose skincare product.

Second, I have a limited edition Lip Scrub in a delicious, sweet rose scent. So far I can definitely say that all of the perfectpout lip scrubs do work! You are to apply a pea-sized amount to your fingers and to massage the scrub on your lips in a circular motion. When you are done you are to wipe your lips clean and follow-up with a lip balm. I like to use these before bed to keep my lips healthy.

Third, I have the jelly lip balm. It is a clear-black lip balm that turns into a custom shade of pink when applied by reacting with your body’s pH level. The formula leaves behind a glossy finish. You can see in my swatch below that the lip balm turns into a medium pink shade on me.

Fourth, I have the Rose Multi-Use Oil. The oil is contained in a glass bottle and is dispensed by a dropper. It is called “multi-use” because it can be applied to the face, body, nail cuticle area, and hair. Rose Multi-Use Oil claims to provide intense hydration and radiance to the skin. I love that it has real rose petals suspended in the oil! You should always shake the oil well before use, and it does smell like roses. Here are the application directions for each possible use:

• Face and body: Apply two to three drops into your hands and press into the skin both in the morning and night
• Nails: Drop directly onto the nail bed and massage into your cuticles
• Hair: Apply two to three drops into your hands and work into the hair, starting from the ends and working up the shaft

wet n wild photofocus Rose Primer Serum

Ending the skincare products from the wet n wild Rebel Rose collection is the Rose Primer Serum. It is a shimmery, translucent-pink serum that is contained in a glass bottle and applied with a dropper. The water-based formula glides onto the skin and dries down to be a dewy primer. It does leave the skin feeling primed and ready for makeup, and it is even a bit cooling. The claims are that it will extend the wear time of your makeup, moisturize, and smooth the skin. You are to apply two to three drops onto your hands and to massage it onto your face from the center outward. It has a rose scent.

Moving into the makeup from the wet n wild Rebel Rose collection, I have the Rose Blush Brush. The bristles are densely packed but still provide some give, and it is soft. It is a great brush for applying blush and bronzer, and it is worth giving it a try with liquid and cream foundation. This is a domed brush and is designed to be used with the cream blush coming up soon.

Next, I have the Rose Eyeshadow Brush. It is another densely packed, yet soft domed brush. The size and shape make it a good option for applying eyeshadow into the crease, and perhaps onto the eyelid. wet n wild claims it can also blend eyeshadows into the outer-v of the eye. I can see it being used as a blending brush with no eyeshadow applied to finish off your eyeshadow look. Essentially, it is versatile!

Third from the makeup collection is the coloricon Cream Blush. Do not be fooled by the shimmery black cream in the pan. This blush transforms into a gentle berry hue when applied to the skin by reacting with your pH level. Cream blushes can be applied with your fingers, with the Rose Blush Brush, with a stippling brush, or with a beauty sponge, depending on your preference. It has a subtle rose scent.

Fourth, I have three coloricon eyeshadow quads. Each quad features a unique color story with a combination of matte and shimmer shades. The shimmers are true shimmers and are highly foiled with no glitter overspray. Imagine how the shimmers will look when applied wet, considering they are stunning while dry in my swatches! Each of these palettes are highly impressive, swatch well, are not powdery, and are worth adding to your collection if the hues speak to you.

wet n wild Rebel Rose megalast Liquid Catsuit High Shine Liquid Lipsticks

Pressing on, I have the two high shine liquid lipsticks exclusive to this collection. Petal Poison is a mauve-hued pink, while Bud Romance is a true, rose mauve. The high shine liquid lipsticks are not intended to last all day, rather, they gently fade after a few hours and leave behind a slight stain. While the formula is glossy like a lipgloss, it is not sticky and actually feels moisturizing on the lips. They also pack on much more pigmentation than a lipgloss, but they are not full coverage.

wet n wild Rebel Rose megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks

To finish up the individual products from the wet n wild Rebel Rose collection, I have two matte liquid lipsticks. Kiss of Death is a dark brick red, while Deviant Damsel is a dark eggplant purple. The matte lipstick line is one of my favorites for many reasons, and these two are no different. They are full coverage, not streaky, long-lasting for all day wear with minor touchups, and they dry down to be fully matte in a few minutes. Also, for being matte they are not that bad feeling on the lips.

While walking through Walgreens I am finding an additional item that is a part of the Rebel Rose collection. In doing my research, this item is a Walgreens in-store and online exclusive that is also on Amazon. wet n wild has never mentioned or advertised this product.

wet n wild photofocus Rose Eyeshadow Primer

This eyeshadow primer is exactly the same as the photofocus Eyeshadow Primer from the standard collection, as far as I can tell. But, it has a slight rose scent.

In summary of the wet n wild Rebel Rose collection, I give this collection five stars. Most of the wet n wild limited edition collections feature a few out there products that I will never find use for. I will definitely use all of the products from this collection. Upon initial inspection, I am impressed by everything and I do not suspect any duds from this line. It definitely lives up to the name and theme, and I believe it is worth your money to try out.
