The wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection has arrived just in time for Halloween, and I am making sure to purchase a ridiculous amount of it! For my review I am only purchasing products that I think that I myself or that you will find use for in your everyday routines. I did not purchase glitter, paint palettes, stencils, or paint pots, because those are more for costume use. Also, those would just be a waste of my money because I will never use them. I am swatching and reviewing plenty of eye, lip, and face products featuring playful colors and plenty of sparkle. If you stick around until the end I even have some bonus content for you. This post will for sure help you to decide which products you will be buying from the collection.
wet n wild Fantasy Makers megalast Prismatic Lipsticks
The first products in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection are not new by any means. The Prismatic lipsticks were launched as part of the limited edition Unicorn Glow collection. While I did an entire post on the collection, I am providing fresh photography in this post. These lipsticks are ok to wear on their own, but are probably best worn over top of another lip color. They provide a sheer, yet buildable wash of metallic sheen. I like that there is a unicorn stamped into the bullets.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers Color Blast Colored Mascaras
We have seen colored mascaras released in the past, but I am particularly excited for this fresh lineup in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection. The wands are made of silicone and are the most flexible wants that I have ever encountered. I like the sleek packaging of the tubes with metallic colored rings so that you know which one you are reaching for. The mascaras are difficult to swatch and are better tested on the eye. I typically have trouble getting color payoff with colored mascaras. If that turns out to be an issue with these, I would suggest using a mascara primer, such as wet n wild’s.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks
wet n wild released a bunch of Fantasy Makers Liquid Catsuit Matte lipsticks in 2017. Those shades are available again this year, but to save you the boring redundancy I am only buying and swatching the new went n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 shades. Hex-cellent is a beautiful, deep fall red. I dig the dark blue of Darkness Falls and the goth vibes, but it is not a color that I gravitate to in daily life. As I have said numerous times, the formula dries down to be fully matte in a few minutes and lasts well through eating and drinking. The curved doe-foot applicator holds an optimal amount of product and makes application simple.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers megalast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipsticks
There are four new metallic lipsticks to share in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection. I find the formula to typically be a bit streaky and one that needs to be built up. It does dry down to be matte, yet metallic, in a few minutes. Out of the bunch featured here, Bewitched is the most streaky and difficult to swatch. The others are just as fine as previously released shades. Pink Your Poison is definitely a Barbie pink shade. Shady Witch is a metallic black and not a shade that I think I can pull off.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers megalast Lip Colors
The megalast lipstick line is one that I thoroughly enjoy from the drugstore. I consider these to be basic lipsticks with strong, buildable pigment, with a somewhat shiny finish. They last alright through the day, but will need to be touched-up at some points. Here in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection we have new shades. Gimmie Gold is a stunning metallic gold lipstick, and a unique shade. Ghostly Beings can be used as a white base to make other lipsticks pop. You can live out your goth dreams with Eerie Onyx. Hazardous Red is a classic red.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers coloricon Loose Pigments
Here in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection we get a bunch of coloricon Loose Pigments. Some are new, while others are repeats. Pegasus Flutter, Unicorn Wishes, and Mythical Dreams were a part of the Unicorn Glow collection, but I have re-swatched them as part of this post. The pigments are always highly metallic and glitter packed. They are best used as eyeshadow, but are versatile enough for whatever you can dream up. It is best to apply them over a sticky eyeshadow base, such as a glitter glue primer, to prevent the glitter from moving around during the day. Perhaps even using a wet brush would be good. For the most part the swatches are decent or average, but I must say that two of them had me jumping out of my seat. Celtic Glow has such strong green pigment that it blows me away! Dragon’s Breath is a high metallic copper that really packs a punch.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers megaglo Highlighting Powders
We certainly have some interesting highlighter options in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection. We first got skull-stamped megaglo Highlighting Powders in the Goth-o-Graphic collection in a pink and a white, which look suspiciously similar to the ones featured here. The remaining two appear to be new shades. These shades may not be wearable for everyday use, but they are the same amazing formula of the megaglo line and I love the shine and smooth powder to death. I do not think that I will ever use Not Your Basic Witch as a highlighter, unless I am going for a dirty look. While it is shiny, I think it is best used as an eyeshadow.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 megaliner Metallic Liquid Eyeliners
In the past I have not been thoroughly impressed with wet n wild’s colored eyeliners, especially the metallic ones. This lineup in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection, with the exception of one shade, appears to follow suit. You need to put in some effort to get a decent line, but it can be done. The main issue is the streaky formula that makes building up pigment a pain. I have to say that I am shocked by Blue Moon! It is streak-free and the pigment is insane. I need to find a use for such a vibrant blue. Golden Goddess and Ghouls Rule are very different from the rest of the eyeliners in the group. They are clear with either gold or silver glitter. While you can use them on their own, they are probably spectacular over top of another eyeliner.

wet n wild Fantasy Makers coloricon Shade Shifting Blush in Zombie Blush
I am so intrigued by the new shade shifting blush concept included in the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection. This blush looks dark in the pan with a duo chrome sheen. I have seen it applied to the cheeks with a brush and it provides a beautiful dark pink-red wash that is great for fall. Swatching it with my finger makes a much more intense look than you actually get with a brush. A lot of the metallic chrome powder builds up on my finger and makes the swatch messy. The swatch itself looks amusingly like a bruise. Overall, I like it and cannot wait to use it.
wet n wild Fantasy Makers coloricon Rainbow Highlighter in Moonstone Mystique
A while ago wet n wild released another Rainbow Highlighter in a lighter shade. This one is like the evil or dark twin sister. It may be more suitable for darker skin tones, in comparison to the lighter version. If you are into the whole rainbow highlighter thing then you will probably like this product.
Bonus! Product Comparisons
The wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection features a bunch of products that appear to be highly similar to “limited edition” products and shades released in the past. wet n wild seems to have renamed the shades and re-released them without any mention that they are repeats. I am going into my collection and pulling out the old products to compare them with the new look-a-likes so that you can determine what you should purchase or pass on, especially if you already have the old product.
Unicorn Glow vs Moonstone Mystique
These two rainbow highlighters are obviously different. The hues Unicorn Glow are lighter in tone than in Moonstone Mystique. I am just having fun while helping you out with the side-by-sides!
If You Got It, Haunt It vs Purple Ashes
I cannot find any differences between the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 highlighter If You Got It, Haunt It and the old Purple Ashes. So, if you already have Purple Ashes, save your money!
Caught In Your Web vs White Raven
Again, I cannot find any differences. Save your money!
Moonlit Gleam vs Midnight Moon
While the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 highlighter in Moonlit Gleam and the old Midnight Moon come in different packaging, I still feel like Moonlight Gleam is familiar while I am swatching it. After all, both of these highlighters have “moon” in the name. I may be crazy but I think Moonlit Gleam has a hair more gold and intensity to it, but these are pretty much identical otherwise. There is not enough difference on the face to warrant owning both of these if you already have Midnight Moon.
Purple Poison vs Black Butterfly
I think that it is obvious by the packaging and the swatches that Purple Poison is slightly darker than Black Butterfly. As far as wearing these on the eye I say just purchase one or the other.
Too Cute to Spook vs Pink Coffin
For the next two eyeliner comparisons I have the same thoughts. I think that the old eyeliners released in the Goth-o-Graphic collection are slightly darker than the new wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 shades. I also think that they are metallic by means of a metal-like sheen, while the new liners are metallic by means of glitter. They are still similar enough that you do not need to own both the new and old shades.
Wicked White vs Skull Prayer
We have reached the end of the wet n wild Fantasy Makers 2018 collection. My final thoughts are that I am pleased that a fair amount of the products can be used on a daily basis. While some colors are out there, I think that you can find non-Halloween uses for them. I am excited for new shades of old favorites and I invite wet n wild’s innovation into my makeup collection. What do you think about this collection? Will you be purchasing anything with the intent to use the products for your Halloween costume? Please take a few moments to share with me in the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
