Play! by Sephora July 2017 review

This month’s Play! by Sephora July 2017 review marks one year of me being a subscriber. I think that is kind of exciting! I have been able to try a wide variety of high-end products and brands, and I have truly enjoyed the opportunity. Were you here when I posted my July 2016 unboxing? Anyway, let’s move on into the July 2017 box. This month’s theme is Beauty Staycation, which is yet another summer-themed box. This box has more weight to it than it usually does.

It looks like they are putting more effort into their fold-out booklets. I like it! While I do want another plastic makeup bag, I am digging the plaid print. I have to say that the only time I ever went camping I totally glamped because I did a full face of makeup in 90 degree weather.

It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara

The first product in my Play! by Sephora July 2017 review is my first ever product from It Cosmetics. Superhero mascara claims to provide volume, reach, and lift in only one coat. The formula wraps the lashes and contains collagen, biotin, and peptides. The wand is pretty standard, as are the claims.

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Swag

I hear so many good things about the Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors from beauty gurus! You all know that I love matte lip colors in mauvy shades such as this one. I really like the color, and the frosted packaging feels so classy. This product smells like a chocolate dessert! It swatches very smooth, without streaks. The applicator is a flat doe foot. One swipe does not provide full coverage, but you can easily build it up. It dries down matte for me in a matter of minutes, but the directions state that you should let it set for 10 minutes for stay-all-day wear. After 30 minutes of dry time the swatch does transfer. Unfortunately, I think it will do the same thing on the lips, making it not so stay-all-day. I will still use it and I highly anticipate that I will like it anyway.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray

I enjoy testing out hair products to see if my hair will show any change. I can really use Rosarco Milk, especially with my freshly bleached hair. This leave-in conditioner spray has a light formula. You are to spray it onto clean, wet hair, concentrating it on the ends. All you have to do after that is let your hair air dry or blow dry it. It is supposed to help tame frizz and flyaways.

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-off Treatment

This Charcoal Pore Pudding mask looks awesome! I find the swirled colors very satisfying and I do not want to use it and mess it up! I also like how it is called a pudding, and it really looks like pudding that I could eat. This is a charcoal face mask that is supposed to balance your skin’s moisture, absorb impurities, and reduce the appearance of pores. You are to apply it to your face and blend it over your skin in order to mix the colors into a gray color and ultimately coat your face. It also recommends scooping it out of the pot with a small spoon, which is not provided. You then leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off. It has a very natural, earthy smell, as if it is made with plants, trees, and roses. This is a huge deluxe sample.

Milk Makeup Cooling Water

Cooling Water another product that I hear so many great things about! This is a stick moisturizing product that refreshes and soothes your skin. It is packed with marine minerals. You just go ahead and rub the stick all over your face and neck for an instant cooling feel. You can even store it in the fridge for extra cooling. Do all of this before makeup application.

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine

The final product in the Play! by Sephora July 2017 review is a perfume. I really like how this brand includes a beautiful picture postcard with the sample. I keep them on display because they are so nice. This is mainly an orange scent, with the top notes being blood orange and bitter orange peel. It also has geranium and jasmine. It smells OK and I will use it. However, I extremely dislike perfume samples that do not have a sprayer. I am clueless as to how you are supposed to correctly apply a sample without one. I guess just pour it all over and hope for the best.

I must say all of these samples in this month’s Play! by Sephora July 2017 review are rather large, or have big packaging. I cannot believe that we have products that people are raving about, and that we have a healthy mix of makeup, skincare, and haircare. For me, this is the most impressive box that I have received yet. Keep it up, Sephora! Will you try any of these products? Let me know. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
