While it may be hard to stomach that this is the last Play! box of the year, it is time for my Play! by Sephora December 2018 review. The theme of the box is “Cheers to Beauty,” where we give a toast to noteworthy beauty of 2018. This box is a little bit different because it has six deluxe samples, rather than five plus a bonus sample. The extra sample is a mystery, picked just for you. Whenever we consider favorite products I get leery that I may find repeats. I will keep my fingers crossed that we have a good box.
Skin Laundry Hydrating Cream Face Wash
The first item in my Play! by Sephora December 2018 review is my surprise sixth trial sample. Hydrating Cream Face Wash reminds me a lot of the Philosophy face wash from the November box, both in function, color, and consistency. This face wash claims to cleanse, hydrate, and nourish. It also melts away dirt, makeup, and impurities. The directions state to massage small amount over wet skin for 30 to 60 seconds, then rinse. The cream is clear with no true scent.
Tarte Lights, Cameras, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara
The second item in the box is a popular mascara from Tarte. Lights, Cameras, Lashes is a cult-favorite mascara with four-in-one properties. It is supposed to lengthen, curl, volumize, and condition, which is everything you really want from a mascara.
Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Treatment
Next we have an argan oil hair treatment. I like hair oil because it is my best line of defense for naturally frizzy hair. This oil should condition, protect, and add shine. Curiously, it additionally claims to help your hair dry faster when applied to damp hair. I am not sure what black magic goes into that! You can also add it to dry hair. The best method for applying oil is starting at the bottom of your hair and working your way up. The ends need the most oil, and the upper shafts need the least. This oil has a nice smell, but it is hard to describe. I imagine this is just the smell of argan oil.
Too Faced Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer
Fourth, we have a peach-scented and colored face primer from Too Faced. The matte formula promises to blur imperfections and brighten the complexion. It should also provide 12 hours of shine control. I have never used a “cooling” primer before. I would like to experience how it feels on the face.
Sephora Collection Rouge Gel Lip Liner in Nothin’ But Nude
Moving on to some lip products, we have a gel lip liner from Sephora. It is a beautiful nude shade that will easily compliment many lip colors. It can even be worn on its own. The swatch glided on super smooth and pigmented. I will knock off a few points because it set more demi-matte when it is supposed to be just matte.
Fresh Sugar Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm
The final sample in this Play! by Sephora December 2018 review is like dessert for your lips. It has caramel in the name for a reason- it smells and tastes like caramel! I like it for this fact alone. Besides this great asset, the balm claims to provide lasting hydration and a velvety shine. It can be applied as needed.
In summary, this Play! by Sephora December 2018 review was intended to give cheers to this year of beauty. My expectation is getting more products that are widely known and favorited. Perhaps these ones are and I am just out of the loop. I really do not think this lineup matches the theme all too well, but overall the products are good. I am happy with the variety and lack of moisturizers and fragrance. In addition, I can really get into these products and use them up. Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
