Dressy summer outfits for 2018

While summer 2018 is nearly over as I compose this post, it is never too late to get some dress-up time inspiration with 10 new dressy summer outfits for 2018. We might as well milk this summer for all that we can get from it, and I am sure there will be more opportunities where you need to look and feel your best. As is my usual style, my outfits cover a range of tastes, from pretty in pink, attitude, boho, and just plain having fun with colors, prints, and cuts. I also am including outfits suitable for smoking hot days and cooler temps alike. These outfits are perfect for special events, hanging out with friends or coworkers, or even for a day at work. If you do recreate any of my outfits, please share them in the comments!

1) Mauve + Rose gold + Taupe (Summertime Princess)

My first look in the dressy summer outfits for 2018 curbs my craving for all things mauve. This outfit demands a special occasion. I cannot get over how the sweetheart neckline and lace details flow into a tapered dress. I enjoy how the various rose gold accents that I added work with the mauvy hue.

Necklace and earrings: rue21
Sandals: Walgreens
Crossbody: No Boundaries from Walmart

2) Pink + Gold + Shimmer (Flirty, Free, & Fabulous)

There may not be many pieces to this outfit, but it is proof that less is more when it comes to being dressed up yet staying comfortable. This lampshade dress flows in the breeze and adds a touch of feminine delicacy with it’s baby pink tone. I added some dainty gold accents to not overdo the situation.

Dress: Adam Levine from Kmart
Shoes: Faded Glory from Walmart
Crossbody: Delias
Necklace: Walmart

3) Neon florals + Black + Leather (Night Life Bright)

Here is a fun, neon style in my dressy summer outfits for 2018. When I see bright colors in an outfit that calls for me going all out. I love to use my Urban Decay Electric palette at times like this to play with colors. Do not let this sleek dress fool you- it is ultra comfortable while packing an edgy punch. I am keeping the details simple with black as the colors in the dress are busy enough.

Dress: Decree from JCPenney
Shoes: rue21
Crossbody: Madden Girl from rue21
Choker: rue21

4) Coral + Tropical print + Black (Always on Vacay)

How cute is this scuba tropical skirt from Decree?! The material enables it to keep some structure and shape as you wear it. I am selecting a coral necklace because it is one of the colors in the skirt, and the necklace really pulls it out. When working with skirts I try to pick a “basic” top that is anything but basic. Why go plain when you can get cut out sections for the same price as a t-shirt?

Skirt: Decree from JCPenney
Handbag: Kmart
Shoes: rue21
Necklace: rue21

5) Floral + Cold Shoulder + Leather (Anytime, Anywhere)

Outfit number five in my dressy summer outfits for 2018 reminds me of a toned down version of the Decree dress. I am still opting to keep the accessories simple to balance with the busy floral print. This outfit may be a safer option if you prefer to not dress “loud.”

Shoes: rue21
Crossbody: Madden Girl from rue21
Necklace: rue21

6) Skater skirt + Floral + Shimmer (Garden Stompin’)

I am attracted to this skirt because of the design in the fabric. It is much more interesting than a solid skirt. Form-fitting tops are super easy to tuck into skirts, and they stay in all day. I am adding back the missing sparkle in gentle ways with my shoes, clutch, and bracelet.

Shirt: Bongo from Kmart
Skirt: No Boundaries from Walmart
Shoes: New York Transit from Peebles
Bracelet: Walmart
Clutch: unknown

7) Mauve + Burgundy + Boho (Bohemian Dreams)

I am really digging how mauve looks with burgundy while pairing up this outfit. The wrap skirt in conjunction with a fringe handbag is so boho and free. Sealing the deal on this look is the coin earrings and the consistent gold accents.

Shirt: rue21
Skirt: rue21
Earrings: rue21
Purse: Metaphor from Sears
Sandals: Walgreens

8) Leather + Tropical + Bright hues (Tropical Paradise)

Next in my dressy summer outfits for 2018 collection is another dress. I admire the fact that this dress is slightly high low, without being over-the-top dramatic. The print gives off so many summer vibes. I am playing off of the faux leather rope belt and keeping the theme going with my shoes and crossbody. The earrings match the colors in the dress while not making the look more complex than it is.

Dress: Walmart
Sandals: rue21
Crossbody: Madden Girl from rue21
Earrings: Claire’s

9) Leopard + Gold + Leather (The Wild Child)

This tank top is ultra unique with it’s high low detail and tapered sheer panel. It begs to be paired with some attitude pieces, and I am serving it right up with some faux leather. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with gold and leopard, so I am adding a healthy dose of gold accents.

Tank top: Deb
Faux leather pants: Bongo from Kmart
Booties: Attention from Kmart
Handbag: Kmart
Earrings: Decree from JCPenney

10) Navy blue + White + Cognac (The Basics Reinvented)

My final dressy summer outfit for 2018 mixes neutral tones for an everyday appropriate formal look. From head to toe there are crochet accents, and the cognac belt and purse compliments both the navy blue and off-white. Neutrals always work best with navy blue, as evidenced by this pairing.

Shirt: Merona from Target
Skirt: No Boundaries from Walmart
Sandals: Route 66 from Kmart
Crossbody: Walmart
