Play! by Sephora November 2016 Review

Play! by Sephora November 2016 review

It is that time once again for a Play! by Sephora November 2016 review. This month it is all about getting your glow on with the theme “Best in Glow.” I immediately think of GlamGlow when reading the theme, so I hope that is in this box! There is nothing better than glowing skin and highlighting to perfection, in my opinion. Let’s open this bad boy up and prepare to be dazzled.

There is a lot of detail on this month’s collectible bag. Cute as always.

It looks like there is a mistake with my box! In addition to the five deluxe samples and a bonus perfume sample, I have two lipglosses and two perfumes. Now I can pass the duplicates on to a friend.

Play! by Sephora November 2016 products

Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gel in Pin Up Pink

The first item in my Play! by Sephora November 2016 review is Sephora’s Ultra Shine Lip Gel in Pin Up Pink. It appears as though “lip gel” is a fancy term for lipgloss. You know that I really detest lipgloss, so I am not incredibly thrilled by this sample. This lip gel looks very pink. It is supposed to plump your lips and give you a high shine similar to gel nail polish. After swatching the product, I find it to be sheer and best applied over lipstick. It is rather shiny, but I am not sure if it is any more shiny than other lipglosses. It has a sweet smell. The doe-foot applicator is interestingly shaped.

The Estee Edit Dissolve the Drama

Second is The Estee Edit’s Dissolve the Drama makeup remover. I am totally OK with trying new makeup removers. However, I find that most of them irritate my eyes. We will have to see how this one behaves with my eyes. It says to apply it to dry skin, in which it will act as an oil. Then you add a little bit of water which changes it into a milky foam. It has no distinguishable scent and is a clear liquid.

Cover Fx Illuminating Primer

Third is the Cover FX Illuminating Primer. I feel like the sample is a decent size. The directions say to apply a pea-sized amount. It is supposed to improve the clarity of your skin over time, and overall illuminate. The product is off-white in color, and is a rather runny cream.

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Yes! Squealing! I finally get to try a GlamGlow product! Here is GlamGlow’s Supermud Cleansing Treatment. The directions say to apply a thin layer three times a week for 10 – 20 minutes, then remove with water. It will draw out impurities and dirt while brightening and softening. It is charcoal gray colored, dries super fast, and has a fresh, clean smell.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in Rose Gold

Fifth is Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Color in Rose Gold. I do note that the swatch does not set 100%, which does make me weary about using this product as eye color. It is super creamy, pigmented, and metallic. This is really a multi-use product in that it can be used as eyeliner, as eyeshadow, or as a face highlight.

Stella McCartney Pop

The last item in my Play! by Sephora November 2016 review is Stella McCartney’s Pop fragrance. I am surprised by how the gentle the scent is, considering how many notes are in it. It is not overbearing at all, which makes it lovely. Some of the notes include tomato leaf, violet leaf, green mandarin, tuberose, and cedar. Overall it is floral and woody.

I am impressed with this month’s products from this Play! by Sephora November 2016 review. I have high expectations that they will cause me to become a glow-getter. Do you subscribe to this box? Do you use any of these products? We should chat beauty down in the comments. Until next time, continue to let your true beauty shine.
